Featured EDU Resources

The Remote Sensing Tutorial (rst.gsfc.nasa.gov/start.html)
Putting together the remote sensing puzzle a piece at a time! This fine resource from NASA provides visitors with the fundametals {and much more} of Remote Sensing. Starting with a detailed explanation and introduction to remote sensing {Did you know that as you view the screen of your computer monitor, you are actively engaged in remote sensing?}, the resource then delves into sensor technology descriptions, fundamentals of image classification, and RS sensors amd systems. Numerous topic specific sections are also featured, including detailed material on geological, land use, and agricultural uses and applications of remote sensing. The Editor gladly refers anyone interested in remote sensing fundamentals to this fine resource!

Remote Sensing for Spatial Analysts (www.csc.noaa.gov)
This two-day course helps technicians and spatial analysts learn the benefits and limitations of applying remote sensing technologies to coastal issues. This course focuses on the application of remote sensing to specific coastal issues. In this approach, students are presented with management scenarios and will use remote sensing, in combination with spatial data, to investigate the issues. Topics include land cover and use, shoreline erosion, and fisheries and benthic habitat assessment.
